Luke Littler: The Young Dart Prodigy Impressing Everyone

I like a game of darts, even though I’m lucky if I hit the dart board!

So, when I caught this news item about Luke Littler this morning, I was really impressed.

This young man is just seventeen years old, and his accuracy with the arrows has to be seen to be believed. He is on target to clear the board, win every match, and study for his O levels.

As I watched him play, I couldn’t help wishing I could be good at something. I mean, really good, not, that’s okay, or, not bad. I would love to be jaw-droppingly brilliant at something.

I know what I would love to be brilliant at, but right now, at my age, I would be happy with anything.

All of this happened just minutes before I tried to log in to my emails. Only to find I couldn’t.

I tried several times, assuming the usual problems, but it wasn’t going to cooperate. I tried the old switch it off and try again several times, but no luck either.

It doesn’t take much to put me off these days. I am permanently tired, cold and getting really fed up with never quite getting anywhere. My desolate, windy and freezing cold garden is off limits, my usual go to for rejuvenation, so not quite sure what the rest of the day will bring. Although, I will let you in on one of my secrets…

Chatting to you, spontaneously like this, cheers me up immensely, so many many thanks for the opportunity!

Most of us don’t get to be brilliant at anything, no matter our age … except for being our unique selves. I know, not very exciting, but it’s what we got. At least we can commiserate! And send hugs. <3

Your hugs are very welcome, Diana. I would be happy with an occasional moment of brilliance, but they seem to be as rare as hens teeth these days…

I don’t know if brilliance is that common in writing. It isn’t for me, anyway. I actually find that writing is a blend of determination and discipline. I wish I felt brilliant. :-)

Your stories are brilliant, Diana, so by osmosis, so are you… (you are right about writing though)

I think we would all like to feel as if we were brilliant at something. I’ve never associated the word brilliant to myself in any way. Interesting, right? And isn’t it wonderful to have the blogging community to chat with? We are blessed! Hugs!
