No Time for a Think…

No Time for a Think…

Yesterday was not a day for thinking, just when that was all I wanted to do.

As usual, I had far too many irons in the fire, and it was way past decision time. I also need to rethink the current WIP, as something is bugging me.

Anita had an early appointment at the Pacemaker Clinic to check that hers was still working at its best. Her number one son was taking her, but I tagged along because there was a chance we would bump into our favourite grand daughter there. The new baby needed a blood test to check for a nasty allergy.

Babies (or their mothers) shouldn’t be subjected to this kind of stress, so we wanted to help one way or another.

With the now-updated pacemaker’s health in check, we made our way to the café on the ground floor to be greeted by a worried mother and a sad baby. She took one look at us and reached out her arms to each of us for a cuddle. Heartbreaking, or what?

Once in the café, Baby did all the normal things, but her face stayed the same: a mixture of sadness and confusion. We all did our best, over the coffee (hot chocolate, mine) and buns, but it took a while for the first smile to appear.

I did not enjoy the journey home, as I have not travelled well for a while now. Once indoors, the early start to the day, the stress at the hospital, and the travel sickness left me unable to do anything, let alone think, so everything else would have to wait until tomorrow…

P S : I feel much better today and in thinking mode!

That one has a smile that could fix anything, Esther. I’m so grateful she is in my world. Or is it the other way around?

I think she coped with what must have been terrifying for her, a lot better than most, Vivienne…
