Ever Wanted a Clone of Yourself?

I don’t seem to have any ‘me’ days any more.

Those glorious days that always had me feeling as though I was on the right track.

These days, I have to settle for ‘me’ moments, and they are getting to be as rare as hen teeth!

Yesterday was one of the good days. It started with a ‘me’ moment. I was working on promo material for the launch of Folly’s End. I was creating posters and a character post for Charlie Fletcher, my main character. I had a thoroughly lovely morning, even though I knew I had to defrost the freezer in the afternoon.

This job is usually left for me to do, as my defrosting routine works quickly and efficiently. It’s easier to empty the fridge than the freezer, so I pack all the frozen stuff and several frozen picnic packs into the fridge.

Defrosting and clearing the buildup of ice took four hours—hours I had better use for, to be honest. Cutting grass and replacing the caulking around the kitchen sink are jobs on that list.

I used to cope better with my responsibilities, having plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Since I became an old fossil, those qualities are in short supply.

Mornings are all mine and I guard them ferociously. Apart from the breakfast and elevenses breaks, I get to work on all things book-related, all morning.

I would sneak some afternoon time too, but there are far too many outstanding jobs.

A clone of myself would really come in handy!

Not since Dolly the cloned sheep, have I considered the viability of cloning myself… Brilliant suggestion

Oh, yes! A clone would be great.
I try to do jobs in the morning and writing in the afternoon. But there are so many other things that need doing!

So many things we never get around to, too…

I quite like cutting the grass, but not defrosting the freezer (our fridge defrosts by itself and if the back drain gets blocked it floods the floor).

I would love a freezer that defrosts itself… is there such a thing?

Shame… I really hate having to defrost ours…
