Another Week at the Workhouse… #Journal

Who are you kidding? Go back to your knitting…

He thinks he’s a muse, but will pretend I didn’t see him…

The old grey cells must have been having a conflab over the weekend, as they have suggested I pull my socks up and do something different, something that might actually get things moving. Cheeky buggers!

Well, I looked at my to-do list, but nothing waved back, so unless I am mistaken, I am on my own on the progress front. I would love to smarten up the website a bit, but where to start?

I am getting too old for guessing games these days, and to be frank, there may not be that much time left as indications are not favourable.

My sister and I have trouble with our memory boxes, which used to be hilarious but not quite so funny these days when neither of us can remember where anything is.

Still, we must do what we can with whatever is available, I suppose.

Having finally finished the last edit of Folly’s End, it is time to pack it up and send it off for an expert once-over. It is time to start chewing my nails!

How about a newsletter, she says, cringing. Has it really been two months since I wrote one?

I am seeing the doctor on Wednesday about the arthritis. It should be fun — well, it is usually memorable—but maybe she can come up with something to keep me moving!

I know what I will do today. I will work on the promo material for the launch of Folly’s End…

Another fun week at the workhouse has begun… I really hope your week will be a good one!

What was I supposed to be doing?

Question:

rather than use *** for chapter breaks, I would like to use a small black and white image. Where would I find such a thing?

I found images on Pixabay by selecting “vectors” in the drop-down on the right hand side of the search box. I was looking for specific things (ice cream cones, butterflies, etc.), but Darlene’s suggestion of searching on “ornaments” is a good one. It brings up all kinds of shapes and motifs. Once you insert an image into your document, it can be reduced. (I use Word, not Scrivener, though.)

I think many of us have those days, I was scratching my head when I went upstairs for something today, came back down then remembered and trotted back upstairs… :-) Wishing you well with your Drs visit…
    Hugs your way x

I am becoming amazed at how fast I can forget something, and how long it takes to come back! Thanks for the hugs! XX

I found my little images for page breaks by googling free font websites and searching for ornaments or widgets. Good luck.

Who knows how long any of us have left? Just do what you want to do and don’t feel guilty if you don’t write anything. Life’s too short to worry about it.

Someone once said, we will always regret what we don’t do… but we can’t do everything, can we?

You can’t stop aging. I see this with my mom. She is quite active still, at 85, and her mind is still sound. I saw a relatives wife yesterday. She has dementia and that is awful. I think my mom staves off negative effects through reading and mild exercise.

I am doing everything I can to keep my mind active, Robbie… although the exercising is getting harder…
