As usual, thanks to Jim for the idea of #Six on Saturday…

This acer is my oldest bonsai, and always makes my heart sing when these scarlet buds appear…

Another acer, this one came to me with very dark leaves, but every year they get lighter. It has been in the wars, and nearly died, so very pleased to see these leaves this year…

Yet another acer, you can tell how much I love them all, can’t you… So many different colours and leaf shapes. This one looks quite different later on… All that moss has to go!

I grew this cherry bonsai from a stone six years ago, and it has never been much more than a twig. This year might be a diferent story, if all these leaves are anything to go by… I wonder if that copper band has been keeping those snails away?

I am rather fond of pines too, but still learning how to manage them. Glad to see these new candles, but sorry the image is a bit blurred. It was threatening to rain and I was standing bare foot in a puddle at the time!

and finally, one of my success stories. This aubretia was a sickly seedling last year when I tried yet again to grow some for my garden. I love the colour so much, but never been successful with them at all. Even the ones I buy from the garden centre seem to vanish overnight, so this was a joy to see this morning!
I have no idea what that is in the pot, but I can’t count it, as that would make seven…
