Mother’s Day isn’t until Sunday, but as there are a lot of mothers in our family, some of us have to be visited early and yesterday was our turn.
At least half of Waitrose’s flower section came through the front door first, followed by three generations of our family. When I think about it, we are becoming quite historical as our family tree keeps on growing.
It was a glorious day, sunshine and welcome warmth had doors and windows open, and I managed to spend more than my usual five minutes out in the garden. My rapidly growing list of jobs to do immediately doubled but I welcomed them. I would rather garden than declutter any day!
Great grandbaby number two looks so much better, still has chickenpox spots but they’re not so angry looking now. Great grandbaby number one was at school and was greatly missed, but the conversations flowed, and the sound of laughter echoed around the house. We have a naturally happy and close family, and we enjoy their company. It can get rather noisy when we all talk at once though, but there is always so much to catch up on!
There are some special milestone birthdays this year, including mine and secret plans are the order of the day. I am probably in for some lovely surprises!
We wish all the mother’s in the UK a glorious Mother’s Day on Sunday, and the rest of the world when it’s your turn…
