A Surprise Six on Saturday…

I didn’t think anything was stirring in the jungle yet, but something made me wander outside for a look.

It was raining, that slow, drenching rain and visibility was poor. That iris is a wonderful purple, but the camera disagreed. While I was browsing, I noticed that some of the bonsai were awake, tiny buds appearing everywhere. I will probably post their progress next week, when hopefully more of them are joining them.

This was a surprise, there wasn’t even a bud showing last week. Shame about the weather, you can’t see how vibrant that purple is…

These (I can never remember what they are) can be a pest, but I love them. They self seed everywhere, keeping the weeds at bay…

You know when Spring is almost here when the Forsythia begins to bloom. We have this massive hedge in our garden, comprised of all kinds of shrubs. Some can be a nuisance, but never the Forsythia!

I’m sure I didn’t plant these tiny daffodils there, but very welcome anyway…

The Chinese Quince’s buds are getting ready to bloom. Hopefully before the pigeons notice them!

They got this far last year and then we lost the lot to those greedy little devils. We had to wait until later in the years for more flowers…

This Sambuca didn’t do well last year, but it was new to the garden. Hopefully we will get more foliage, and maybe some of those gorgeous baby pink flowers!

Thanks again to Jim Stephens over at Garden Ruminations, click to see all the other gardens!

Wishing you all a happy and peaceful weekend!

So early? What lovely surprises to find in your garden. We’re still having the oddest summer that I can remember so I’m curious to see what our autumn turns out like. :)

I must admit that I only photograph the good bits, Kymber. You should see the rest of it, it’s like a jungle. A bit wild like me, I think…

Well done, what a colourful six. Pulmonaria are the speckled leaved plants with pinky purple flowers.

Pulmonaria can be a bit wicked, but I too love the purple & the speckled green too.
