Romance is Always in the Air…

Happy Valentine’s !

Unlike my sister, I cannot remember ever kissing beneath the moon, but as I am coming to the end of my current work in progress, I have been giving my next story a lot of thought. Another mystery maybe, or something spooky? My favourite character, Detective David Snow has been nagging me again too, how come he always seems to know when he could be needed?

I am not a very romantic person. I think I could have been, but fate had other ideas, so this is why I don’t usually read or write much romance. My life has been one very long mysterious struggle, so up until now, I haven’t felt the urge to try. My normal excuse is that due to my inexperience, my efforts might seem stereotyped, not having any real life situations to call upon.

Saying that, there was that time when I was sixteen, when I met Michael…

I don’t do romance, Widds. Could I manage to find some for my poor detective?

Of course you could. Everyone needs a little romance in their lives, especially the kind that comes from the most unexpected places. :D

I do appreciate those special moments, Widds, but I think I lucked out on the HEA kind…

Bah, and humbug to HEA. It only exists to sell books, and movies, and greeting cards. I reckon we get moments of that kind of energy, sometimes the moments last a long time and sometimes they don’t.

I am still waiting for the big one, Widds. You know, the one that makes everything else unimportant…

Well then, what’cha waiting for, woman?
Get out there and get that man or woman to pay attention to you. :D … I don’t mean dating sites, (unless that’s your thing) they’ve become a huge dogs breakfast since I found Mrs Widds on-line and half the planet away way back in 2004, but more of an active energy thing … truly open up your Self to the possibilities. Scary thing, I know … make yourself a wish list … the sex had to be good/great – even at our age all the bits still work … they have to meet you/challenge you intellectually, and be emotionally present.
Hell, we wanted these things when we were in our 20’s-onwards, nothing’s changed just because the mileage has piled up.

Well, Jaye, your imagination is alive and well and I’ll bet (if you wanted to take on the challenge) kissing under the moon could find its way into David’s life amidst all the other intense action. :-) Happy Writing!

It is a shame to be separated from a loved one. If I can’t take mine with me, I’m not going… I suppose that makes me a romantic too?

I’ve been married for 23 years and I’m not remotely romantic and have no urge to write romance other than as a possible by product of a story 💛
