I wrapped up warm and wore both of my travel sickness armbands. I hoped they would work, for I really hate feeling nauseous. There was a weak sun which did little to warm anything. A sharp wind was making us all shiver, and the short journey to a nearby town seemed pointless as we didn’t really want to leave the shelter of the car.
Tempted by the promise of hot chocolate, we ventured out. I would do almost anything for hot chocolate, but after a few minutes it no longer seemed like a good idea. I was now very cold and feeling sick to boot. The armbands were obviously rubbish.
We quickly returned to the car, and I sipped my hot chocolate all the way home, the best consolation prize ever. Something good did come from such a disastrous day, however. I knew I had to make that dreaded appointment to see my doctor about the nausea and my lack of energy. I have never been this weak and tired before, completely ruining my newly found system. And it had been working so well!

I am determined to work on the last chapter of Folly’s End today, and that would be a wonderful achievement…
