Yesterday, the Best Day of the Week…
Yesterday was a family day, but I did manage to post something in the morning before they arrived.
Family visits are precious, and we suspect that our family are making sure we get regular visits now we are older and don’t get out much.
The years seem to fade away once there is a new baby in the house. Aches and pains are forgotten as we remember other times, other new babies. I love babies, and could study them all day. Their tiny fingers, their unique smell, even their eyelashes. Frankies eyelashes are so long, they curl!

Frankie is a beautiful child, and she spent the best part of the afternoon on my lap. I gave her a bottle feed, then managed to wind her successfully! Then she had the hiccups, which seemed to amuse everyone.
Frankie seems to be in such a hurry to do everything. She reaches for things and grabs them easily. Most go in her mouth, where her gums have a workout. Teeth will be arriving soon, I think. She loves to stand up unexpectedly from a sitting position, so I had to have my wits handy or risk launching her across the room. Safer on her tummy, where she made a considerable effort to get up on her knees and attempt to crawl.

Milo decided to grace us with his presence and seemed fascinated by this small centre of attention. I was a little worried, due to his previous hostility towards strange cats who use his catflap! He watched her for a while, then curled up and slept beside her on the couch.
Too soon, it was time for the family to leave and go to collect our other great-grandchild from school. The house seemed so empty when they had gone…

Back to work tomorrow!
