This week was the very first one of 2024, and I was determined to start as I meant to go on. More productive and efficient is the order of my day.
Unfortunately, my brain wasn’t on the same page and has taken some prodding to even consider cooperating. Fortunately, some of my jobs don’t involve brain power, so I have been concentrating on clearing the office of clutter. Like that mountain of Post-it notes I create but never look at again and that pile of articles I always intended to read.
Hopefully, I can create a proper agenda for everything I want to do in the future.
Hoping to ease the brain into normal functioning mode, I finished another chapter of Folly’s End, my current work in progress. I hoped this would be the last chapter, but this was not to be. I have been guilty of rushing my endings and am determined not to do that this time.
I also spent a fair bit of time one afternoon checking everything already in place: book covers, blurbs, descriptions, posters and marketing efforts. Only to discover quite a few that need improvement.
That dreaded list is growing again!
I have also been looking for ways to save time by identifying all those things that waste it on a daily basis.
I have also agreed to limit how many puzzles I do every day, as there are so many better things I could be doing.
At the end of the first week, I feel I am on the right track.
A wee bit smug, if I’m honest, but I can live with that…

It’s not getting any warmer, is it?
