Very evocative. This poem lays bare as a falsehood the old platitude:
Stick and stones
May break my bones
Words will never hurt me
Words have their own power, for better or for worse.
The use of the nightmare imagery is very striking ‘sheets soaked’ resulting from ‘Whispers become screams’ . Your own strong and vivid use of ‘Words’.
