I have always enjoyed immersing myself in my writing, no matter what else is happening in my world.

This year, however, has been different. Somehow, I have become very old, and I don’t like it at all.

This wasn’t a complete surprise. I knew it would happen eventually, but I hoped that some yoga and moderate exercise would make the process easier to cope with.

And for a while, it did.

Then, different parts of me started to complain. Several tests were done, and one by one, they came back with the same answer. They almost used the same words every time. It seems my body is worn out, tired and old.

Of course, I took all of this information with the proverbial grain of salt. I wasn’t too old, not yet. I was just a bit tired, that’s all.

My sister is two years younger, and her health is so much worse than mine. Between us, the growing depression has us wondering which one of us will go first. Of course, it could just be the terrible weather we have been having?

You see, I am still looking for other reasons.

Determined not to give in to the depression, I recently approached the current masterpiece with my new idea of editing it before I finish the last chapter. I have read the first ten chapters already and covered them in red ink.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of these chapters, so the future already looks brighter!
