Hold Tight… #Poetry

Strange sounds emanating from the walls
Pulse racing, blood pounding
Everything had changed
Looking through my window
Looking at a different vista
Blinded by panic,
I froze, hands balled into fists
Nerves jangling, as if I had stuck my toe
           in a light plug
Danger, my mind repeated
I could not run, feet stuck to the floor
Neighbours walking towards my front door
Gaining momentum, they start knocking,
echoing the sound from the walls...

Don’t you just hate those paralysed moments of being rooted to the spot.. :-) Great poem
