Money
Money – Image by KL Caley

Money, money
do we ever have enough?
I hear the screams, NO!
Even oligarchs want more
There is never enough
The person who saved this money
Carefully in little trays
Likes to take them out and look at them
Thinking himself rich
He is the lucky one, content with his hoard
Would that we all felt the same
Alas, seeds planted long ago
If laid out in words
Would spell out
Greed is the new God…

I enjoyed the poem, Anita. Gotta wonder how much is enough? My VooDoo Ranger Ale costs $2.50 a bottle and I drink one a week. I guess for me that’s enough.

I often wish my spark hadn’t faded away quite so soon, John…

Well I look back on what I accomplished and am proud of that. I still have spark but it is not as spontaneous as it once was.

I am beginning to feel a little ‘dim’… that’s the best description I can find…

That is a good description. We have to fight that with activity. Since I’m 80 I can give you this advice. Get a bike or even just a walk. While doing the activity keep the brain moving too. Look around and discover something new each day. Might even be something simple like a crack in the sidewalk.

By dim I meant ‘not quite there’ a little hazy? But I am writing another mystery story, so not bad yet!

I still say activity takes the haze off the mind.

A wonderful poem. It won’t be long before we get electronic money. Then we will only be able to dream of our wealth.;-) Have a nice Sunday! xx Michael
