Broken dreams
Where many hands reach for me
Tearing pieces of my mind
I’m somewhere
where the screaming never ends
Have I crossed over to the dark side?
Is my soul lost
Along with the pieces of my mind?
The ground I walk on
Is no longer as solid as it used to be
Can I save some small part of me?
Will I find a way to stay in my own world?
To hold on to self…

    A super poem, Anita. It reminds me of the time I was in a horrific auto accident. I asked the nurse in the ER who the person was screaming with pain. She said, “It’s you, my man.” I told her I was sorry and passed out again. You captured that feeling of confusion.perfectly.
