Winter Song… #Poetry

Winter marches to her own beat

Sings her own special song

Every bit as sweet as the other three seasons

There is the anticipation of snow

Will Christmas be white?

Not all will be praying for a world in white

With last years sleds in cupboards under stairs

Children watch and wait with snowmen in mind

They stand at windows, hot breath misting the glass

Rain keeps falling, no hope of snow

It is at times like these you can see

The whole universe in a raindrop

Hope falls with every snowflake

When it finally arrives

Warm coats, woollen mittens, and children

Outside before you can say no

They make a snowman and Christmas

Angels lay their wings down

Late that night, with snow still falling

The snow angels will have taken flight…

I have only ever experienced a white Christmas once, Anita. A delightful poem.
