The photo for this week’s prompt was taken beneath Robin Hood’s Stride in Derbyshire, a is a mysterious outcrop of rocks that seem out of place in the rolling hills and fields. Stuart and I have visited these stones on a number of occasions and this landscape formed part of our Riddles of the Night workshop last December. Just across a track that has been there since time out of mind is another outcrop, an ancient settlement site with some very strange features, including a hermit’s cave. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the two outcrops form an astronomically aligned triangle with a stone circle. The workshop took in several other enigmatic landscapes and opened a whole can of worms…
