I knew they were up to something… all those missing notifications and strange occurrences were nothing to do with Halloween at all. They were happily engineering … an update.

So the new, all singing, all dancing WordPress editor has now been retroactively demoted to an ‘interim editor’ and the ‘real’ one launched quietly. Which seems rather as if somebody finally realised how unpopular the thing had been but didn’t want to say, ‘we got it wrong.’

They have, it seems, removed the beep bloody boop feature.

As you will note from the italics above, they have also removed the spell-check facility, which seems eminently sensible… who needs a spell check to pick up that smattering of typos and errors after all?
