What was it, she wondered, with her and water?
Wether it was a lake, a river, or better, the sea… She always felt emotional around her favorite element. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she had never lived far from it. She’d been born in a modest house with an ocean view, and the sound of the waves crashing on the pebble beach had been the first lullaby that had rocked her to sleep.
Maybe water had charmed her as an infant, like a mysterious godmother whispering secret promises to her ear before she could even understand the extent of the tie that was about to bound them, for the rest of her life.
As a child, she hadn’t really given it a thought. She just enjoyed being near, in or on water. As often and as long as she could.
