What do you see # 55 – 9 November ’20

( For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a person precariously balanced, standing on a fallen tree trunk hanging over a body of water)
Balanced on the edge of nowhere
The broken tree surfs the air
Cold water below shows his shadow
With his head in the clouds
He cannot survive in the world
of miniatures that he sees
Across the pond, the land, hidden by mist
Beckons him on
Come do as Christ did, walk on water
This he knows to be impossible
Shaking his head to move his thoughts on
He loses his balance
The water, cold, takes his breath
He blacks out before breaking the surface
With a thousand tiny life vests around his waist
He remembers his last thought
Good things come in small parcels…

ABOUT US: For those new to our website and blog, we would like to thank you for visiting. Between us, we write in several different genres, so there should be something for everyone to enjoy. Anita cannot abide computers, so I (Jaye) do all the technical (oily rag) stuff! Our books tend to be varied, from horror to supernatural romance and coming of age, and mystery thrillers. We try to keep our website interesting with guest posts, bloggers, poetry, and reviews for all the books we read. Our books are shown in the right-hand sidebar and clicking on the images should take you straight to Amazon.
