What do you see # 49 – 28 September’20

( For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a hand extended out with a little bird sitting on it. In the background one can see a lake and it’s shore in distance)
Misty morning by my favourite lake
Calm blue water
Crisp as mother’s tablecloth
The trees reflection
Like dark green fingers
Reaching for the shore’s safety
I held bird seed in the palm of my hand
Hoping our small visitor
Would use me as a bird table
So delicate was his touch
He couldn’t weigh much more
Than a folded hanky
His shiny black beak
Matching the colour of his eyes
For me, it was the tiny flash of blue
On his cheek, matching the colour of the lake
He made my day, by stopping by
To eat the lunch I had ready
In the palm of my hand…
