COLLEEN’S 2020 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 190 #SYNONYMSONLY
“Circled and Squared”
Time
moves in
slow circles
The brown snake coiled
Patiently waiting
For his dinner to move
The balance of life to match
The still sleeping prey unaware
that life’s harmony will be broken
The level of life’s tally soon returned…

The snake’s face looks resigned to me, compliments the poem perfectly. Life is about accepting what we can’t change and making the most of what we can.

Well done, Anita. I love the wisdom of your words! Many of my neighbors have reported seeing rattlesnakes. Yikes! I’m careful walking the neighborhood. I figure we’re in their territory, so they need a little respect and a lot of social distancing. LOL. ❤
