To fly in solitude and greet the sun
Far from the crowded dwellings of the herd!
To find the sky as wide as any bird
And vaunt each breaking day as freedom won.
To find a home where only deer have run
With naught but silence echoing each word.
Such dreams of liberty may be absurd…
The monochrome existence of a nun.
To choose division breeds a great divide;
We dwell within, though we may walk apart;
On vision’s wings we cross the void of night,
Before the soul there is no need to hide.
No wilderness can reap a loving heart…
In unity we give life to the light.
